Beginner path (1-30)

Your first evening, one step at a time.

TL;DR
  • Maple Island is optional. Skip it at level 7.
  • First job at level 10 (Magicians at 8). No stat test.
  • Henesys PQ from 10, Kerning PQ from 21.
  • 2nd job at 30, with the same instructor.

1. Maple Island or skip

You start in Mushroom Town on Maple Island.

Short quests and free starter gear.

Skip it

Shanks in Southperry sails you to Lith Harbor.

Level 7+150 mesos
You can't come back.

Once you sail, Maple Island is closed for that character.

Shanks takes you for free if you carry Lucas' recommendation letter. Lucas (chief of Amherst) gives it for the quest "Chief's Introduction": finish Mai's four trainings in the East Field of Amherst, then go back to him. Level 10 or lower.

2. Levels 1-10

  1. Take every questNPCs with a light bulb. Quest EXP is 10x too.
  2. Hunt snails and mushroomsYour AP is placed for you until level 10.
  3. Beginner skillsYou get 6 SP by level 7. Three Snails hits from range.
  4. Sail to VictoriaThen walk to your job town.
No party before level 10.

The game won't let you start or join one yet.

3. First job

No stat test here: reach the level and talk to the instructor. Cygnus Knights and Aran have their own path: Cygnus Knights, Aran.

After your job, put AP into your main stat. Fast way:

@str 5

Same for @dex, @int and @luk. No number puts in all your free AP.

Max your area attack first.

At 10x EXP, killing groups is what levels you. Each class page has a build for our rates: Classes.

4. Where to train, 10-30

5. Second job at 30

  1. Visit your instructorSame NPC as your first job. You get a letter.
  2. Take the testBring the letter to the test NPC; collect 30 Dark Marbles.
  3. Bring back the proofHand in the Proof of a Hero, then pick your path.

Pirates take a different test: Kyrin sends you to a room to collect 15 crystals, using Flash Fist (Brawler) or Double Shot (Gunslinger). Put a few points into that skill first. Pirate.

6. Your first mesos

Sell what you don't useETC items and spare gear to any shop.
Do questsMany pay mesos and useful items.
Keep every scroll60% and 10% scrolls sell well to players.
Run party questsCoins buy gear at Cody, so you spend less.
Mesos are scarce on purpose.

3x mesos keeps prices meaningful, so items hold their value.

Good to know

Type @dispose. It fixes most stuck chats and frozen characters.

At 10x, level 30 usually takes one evening of play.

No rush. Party quests are fun, give coins and teach you the game.
